In the January-June period, 108 thousand 51 houses were sold in Istanbul, followed by Ankara with 53 thousand 575 units and İzmir with 31 thousand 683.
According to the data compiled by the AA correspondent from the data of the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), house sales across the country in the first part of the year decreased by 11.5 percent compared to the same period of 2020 and amounted to 552 thousand 810.
In the said period, the highest sales figure was reached in Istanbul with 108 thousand 51 units. One of the 5 residences across the country was sold in the megacity.
Istanbul is followed by Ankara with 53 thousand 575 units, İzmir with 31 thousand 683, Antalya with 24 thousand 446, Bursa with 20 thousand 537, Mersin with 16 thousand 643, Konya with 13 thousand 587, Gaziantep with 13 thousand 314, Kocaeli with 13 thousand 172. Tekirdağ followed with 13 thousand 159.
12 thousand 735 in Balıkesir, 12 thousand 484 in Aydın, 11 thousand 644 in Kayseri, 11 thousand 37 in Adana, 10 thousand 609 in Şanlıurfa, 9 thousand 831 in Muğla, 9 thousand 196 in Hatay, Manisa 8 thousand 899 houses in Sakarya, 8 thousand 855 houses in Sakarya and 8 thousand 729 houses in Samsun changed hands.
In the first half of the year, the sales figures in 15 metropolitan cities throughout the country remained above 10 thousand, while half of the total sales were realized in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Antalya, Bursa and Mersin.
